Our Story
We are a small, family-run team that has lived beside the Ganges for generations. Our guides grew up in these lanes; our drivers know every shortcut; our pandits have prayed at these temples since they were children.
We started Essence of Varanasi because travellers kept telling us the same thing — that a city this old, this layered, this sacred, deserves more than a rushed bus tour. It deserves a host.

For individual tours, 7–14 days is usually sufficient. For peak season (October–March), Dev Diwali, and Holi, we recommend 60+ days, especially for heritage haveli stays which are limited.
Full refund up to 30 days before arrival; 50% refund between 30 and 15 days; non-refundable within 14 days. We always suggest travel insurance and will help you claim if the unexpected happens.
